Features
What is a "Free Cooling Chiller"?
By building the fan cooler into the product itself, this new chiller offers wide ranging energy savings.
Under Japanese climate, outside air is cool during winter and inter-seasonal periods. During these times, free cooling provides a primary source of cooling. This results in significant power savings for the year.

Significant Energy Savings Through Maximum Utilization of Natural Energy!
Winter months have lower-temperature ambient air, so cooling can occur through free cooling alone. During inter-seasonal periods when the outside air temperature and Eco Hybrid output water temperature are about the same, free cooling can provide the primary source of cooling and the chiller can be utilized as needed when the cooling capacity of free cooling is lacking. Actively taking advantage of free cooling reduces power consumption and therefore saves energy.

Units can be connected together for modular chiller operation. Up to 10 units can be connected. (150 hp)
Supports water tank pressure equalization for multi-unit operation thanks to our water tank pressure equalization piping configuration.
(On-site installation of pressure equalization piping is required. Please consult your ORION representative for details.)
Modular connectability supports high loads and future expansion.
Increased user load demands can be met in 37 kW※ increments. Expansion requirements can be met at minimal cost.

The FCC15B has 4-inch water tank pressure equalization piping ports. When connecting 2 or more units, these pressure equalization piping ports are connected to 4-inch or larger pipes in order to achieve balanced water levels among the water tanks.
Run/Stop operations for up to 20 units are possible from the Central Chiller Controller!
The Central Chiller Controller can even offer individual control for up to 20 units installed in groups of different chilled water systems.

Robust Specifications that Support Outdoor Installations
Wide Operable Ambient Temp Range of 20※ to 45 °C
The free cooling system employs a brine intermediate cooling method that allows the product to be used even in colder regions.
Liquid Temperature Range: 5 to 35 °C
Can be used for many applications.
Powder Coating
Powder coating of external surfaces offers improved corrosion-resistance.
Chiller Protection for Cold or Snowy Regions
Operate with confidence in cold climates or in areas that receive snowfall.
Snow Protection Hood (Optional equipment)
For outdoor installations in areas of falling snow, there is a danger of breakdown due to water ingress from snow that has fallen on the product and melted. Installation of the Snow Protection Hood can ensure reliable operation even in outdoor installations in regions that receive snowfall.
Part No. 03110847010
Wind Protection Panel (Optional equipment)
Prevents damage from foreign material being blown onto the outdoor-air heat exchanger during strong winds, and also used to prevent super-cooling during times of strong winds in cold-climate regions.

- Operation under the following conditions: chilled water temp: 20 °C, ambient temp: 32 °C, chilled water pressure: 0.5 MPa, chilled water flow rate at the minimum operating flow rate. Cooling capacity is –5% of the noted value or better.
- The source voltage phase unbalance should be within ±3%.
- The figure noted is when the product is operating at its maximum rated capacity.
- When the continuous current load fluctuation is within ±10%, the ambient temperature and power source, etc. are stable, and the chilled fluid flow is at least 80 L/min. However note that the following cases are excluded:Mode 3 (during free cooling) = ±2.0 °C
① Within 4 minutes after the compressor has started. (Temperature control will start 4 minutes after the compressor has started.)
② When the cooling load is small and the compressor is simply cycling ON and OFF, or when the thermal expansion valve goes from fully closed to open, or from open to fully closed.
③ When the load fluctuation is ±10% or greater of the current load, or when the mode is changed. At such times, the value will be ±3.0 °C.
④ When the water temperature setting is changed. - When the liquid level gauge is at "F".
- The product water pressure is the water pressure at the water outlet of the product. Also, the total head of the discharge pump indicates the head at the chilled water outlet because it includes the internal head loss of the product.
- Also indicates the product storage temperature.
- When the chilled water circuit is not frozen.
